Seventeen miles from Venn Lakes, Meldon Reservoir offers big Dartmoor views, easy access paths, and a choice of walks ranging from short lakeside loops to longer routes towards High Willhays and Yes Tor. The setting includes the dramatic Meldon Viaduct and the steep West Okement valley, which gives plenty of photo stops and picnic spots.
Wild brown trout fishing is available in season on a free-to-fish basis with an Environment Agency rod licence. Facilities are simple, parking is close to the dam, and there are EV charge points at the car park.
